CJ-17 Ship Anchor Loaded and Shipped to Brazil

Recently, CJ-17 high holding power anchor have been loaded into an open top container and shipped to Brazil for local offshore mooring projects. The anchor is split into two separate components: anchor head and anchor shank, packed within one single open top container. Professional lashing & securing measures are applied to prevent structural impact and coating damage during ocean transit.

Loading & Securing Details

1. Pre-loading Preparation The anchor head and shank are sandblasted and coated with anti-corrosion paint. All sharp edges and fluke tips are wrapped with rubber protective pads to avoid scratches during lifting and shipment. Custom hardwood support blocks are fabricated according to the anchor’s center of gravity to distribute weight evenly on container floor. The open top container is inspected before loading.

2. Lifting into Container Mobile crane slowly lowers the anchor head vertically into the container and rests it on pre-positioned hardwood blocks to balance weight. The anchor shank is lifted and placed separately with safe clearance from the anchor head. The two anchor parts will not touch each other during sea transportation to avoid collision caused by vessel rolling. The anchor head is arranged along the container length direction, anchor flukes pointing inward.

3. Heavy-Duty Lashing & Securing

· Hardwood chocks fixed to container floor to support the heavy anchor;

· High tensile steel wires & turnbuckles connect anchor lifting lugs to container bottom lashing rings to restrict longitudinal and transverse movement;

· Hard timber wedges are filled in gaps between anchor and container wall to prevent sliding;

· Rubber cushion pads are added on sharp flukes to protect anti-corrosion paint from abrasion. After loading, waterproof tarpaulin is covered and tightly fastened over the open top container against rain and salt spray.

Ocean Transit Protection

Open top container is ideal for heavy over-dimension cargo. The lashing system is designed to resist inertia force from ocean swell and vessel movement. Upon arrival at Brazil port, terminal crane will remove tarpaulin and lift anchor parts out from the top of container, no pulling from container door, which eliminates risk of anchor damage during discharge.

Unloading & On-site Assembly Instruction

1. Port Unloading: Terminal crane lifts anchor head and shank out from the open top. Remove all lashing wires, timber wedges and protective pads. Full inspection on anchor body and coating is required after unloading.

2. Assembly: Place anchor head on flat ground, lift anchor shank, align connection holes. Insert pin and lock retainer plate to connect anchor head and shank.

3. Deployment: Connect assembled CJ-17 anchor with anchor chain and lower to seabed. This high holding power anchor delivers excellent holding capacity in sandy/muddy seabed for offshore platforms, barges and floating structures. The product is available with CCS / DNV classification certificates for global marine projects.
